The Phone Call!!!

"Yes..." was the only response I could muster. For the first time, I understood the true power of an email—all I had done was send a simple inquiry about my bank account. The phone rang at the most unlikely moment. And with a hint of hesitation, I answered—never knowing that single act would change everything. "The call is about the email you sent. I am your Bank Manager, Miss Bristi Boruah," an angelic voice resonated in my ears. Suddenly, my mood leaped like a pole-vaulter, and I could sense the tranquility of midnight as if someone had momentarily switched off a giant generator that had been disrupting the absolute stillness of the young night for quite some time. "I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience, Jone. It will be resolved by tomorrow morning," she said, her voice a soothing balm to the moment. "Yes, Brishti..." That was the only utterance I could manage. It wasn’t enough. It wasn’t everything. But in that moment, it was all I had. “Jone, why is that issue still unresolved? Don’t send me another email until it's done.” The voice was harsh, each word grating like sandpaper in my ears. I tapped the * button on my phone to glance at the time again, but before I could even process the last few minutes, the relentless hum of the generator roared back into my thoughts.. It felt as if even the generator had taken a call from Bristi, pausing for a few respectful seconds!
